Il se transmet le plus souvent aux humains par la morsure d&#8217;un animal infect\u00e9. Le virus remonte le long des nerfs jusqu&#8217;au cerveau, o\u00f9 il provoque une enc\u00e9phalite s\u00e9v\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<h2>Comment la rage se transmet-elle ?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Morsure d\u2019un animal infect\u00e9 (chien, chat, chauve-souris, renard, etc.).<\/li>\n<li>Contact de la salive sur une plaie ouverte ou une muqueuse.<\/li>\n<li>Rarement par transplantation d&#8217;organes ou d&#8217;autres expositions m\u00e9dicales non prot\u00e9g\u00e9es.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Sympt\u00f4mes chez l&#8217;humain<\/h2>\n<p>Les sympt\u00f4mes \u00e9voluent en plusieurs phases et peuvent inclure :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Phase prodromique<\/strong> : fi\u00e8vre, maux de t\u00eate, malaise, douleur locale autour du site de morsure.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hydrophobie<\/strong> : difficult\u00e9 et peur de boire \u00e0 cause de spasmes de la gorge (sympt\u00f4me souvent mis en avant dans la vid\u00e9o).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Agitation et troubles comportementaux<\/strong> : confusion, agressivit\u00e9, hypersensibilit\u00e9 au bruit et \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Paralysie, coma et mort<\/strong> : dans la phase terminale, le patient d\u00e9veloppe une paralysie progressive et une insuffisance respiratoire.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"callout\"><strong>Important :<\/strong> une fois que les sympt\u00f4mes apparaissent, la maladie est quasiment toujours mortelle. La priorit\u00e9 est la prise en charge <em>avant<\/em> l&#8217;apparition des signes.<\/div>\n<h2>Signes chez l\u2019animal<\/h2>\n<p>La vid\u00e9o montre un chien agressif, comportement typique d\u2019un animal enrag\u00e9. Autres signes :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Comportement anormal ou agressif sans provocation.<\/li>\n<li>Hypersalivation, difficult\u00e9s \u00e0 avaler.<\/li>\n<li>Perte de coordination, paralysie.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Que faire apr\u00e8s une morsure ? (Conduite \u00e0 tenir)<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Nettoyer imm\u00e9diatement la plaie avec <strong>eau et savon<\/strong> pendant au moins 15 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Consulter un centre de sant\u00e9 ou un h\u00f4pital sans d\u00e9lai.<\/li>\n<li>Recevoir le <strong>traitement post-exposition<\/strong> : vaccin antirabique \u00b1 immunoglobulines antirabiques selon la gravit\u00e9.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Peut-on gu\u00e9rir ?<\/h2>\n<p>Le traitement post-exposition administr\u00e9 avant l&#8217;apparition des sympt\u00f4mes est tr\u00e8s efficace pour pr\u00e9venir la maladie. <strong>Apr\u00e8s les sympt\u00f4mes<\/strong>, il n\u2019existe pas de traitement fiable \u2014 les cas document\u00e9s de survie sont extr\u00eamement rares et exceptionnels.<\/p>\n<h2>Pr\u00e9vention<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Vacciner les chiens et chats r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement.<\/li>\n<li>\u00c9viter tout contact avec les animaux errants ou sauvages.<\/li>\n<li>\u00c9duquer les communaut\u00e9s \u00e0 consulter imm\u00e9diatement apr\u00e8s une morsure.<\/li>\n<li>Programmes de vaccination animale de masse pour r\u00e9duire la transmission.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<footer style=\"margin-top: 22px;
